Overview
PARA Mail Organizer is a macOS desktop application that helps you organize your email using the PARA (Projects, Areas, Resources, Archive) methodology. Your privacy is important to us.
Data Collection
Your mail stays on your Mac. PARA Mail Organizer works with Apple Mail locally. The app:
- Reads your Mail.app account and folder structure to display categorization suggestions
- Moves messages between mailboxes when you execute a migration
- Does not transmit any email content, subjects, senders, metadata or account information off your Mac
- Does not use any advertising or tracking frameworks
To keep the app working and improve it, it sends the following limited data to service providers:
- TelemetryDeck (anonymous usage analytics): usage events such as app opened, onboarding completed, paywall viewed and purchase completed, with technical context (app version, OS version, device model, language). The device identifier is hashed on your device before it is sent, so TelemetryDeck only receives an anonymized ID that is not linked to your identity. It is not used for advertising or to track you across other companies’ apps or websites. See TelemetryDeck’s Privacy Policy.
- Sentry (crash reports and diagnostics): stack traces, device model, OS and app version, sampled performance data and session health (whether a session ended in a crash), plus whether premium is active. Sent to Sentry’s EU (Germany) region and not linked to your identity. See Sentry’s Privacy Policy.
- RevenueCat (purchases): a random, anonymous app user ID generated by RevenueCat (not your name, email or Apple ID) and your App Store purchase history for this app (products, purchase and expiry dates), used to unlock and restore premium features. Apple processes payments; we never receive your payment details. See RevenueCat’s Privacy Policy.
The app does not track you: it contains no advertising SDKs, does not access the advertising identifier (IDFA) and does not share data with data brokers. None of the services above receives your mail or any of its content.
Mail Access
The app requires permission to interact with Apple Mail via AppleScript. This access is used solely to:
- Enumerate your mail accounts and folders
- Sample message subjects and senders for categorization suggestions
- Create local mailboxes and move messages during migration
All processing happens locally on your Mac.
Data Storage
Categorization suggestions and migration plans exist only in memory while the app is running and are discarded when you quit. The app stores only app preferences (for example, whether you have completed onboarding) in macOS preferences on your Mac. It can also schedule local reminder notifications, which macOS creates on your device; no push service is used.

Children's Privacy
The app does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Changes to This Policy
If we update this policy, we will post the new version here and update the "Last updated" date.
