Short version: Glancery collects nothing and sends nothing. Everything happens on your Mac. The little it keeps (which folders you chose, saved searches, a daily search count) stays in the app’s own preferences on your Mac.
Glancery is a Mac app developed by Evgeny Goncharov and published under the TechConcepts name. This policy applies to the Mac App Store version of Glancery.
Glancery shows the files in folders you open as thumbnails and searches them when you ask. To do that it reads file names, sizes, dates, file types and the metadata macOS already keeps (for example whether an image is a screenshot, or which website a download came from). It asks macOS Quick Look for thumbnails and macOS Spotlight for search results. This happens in memory on your Mac. Glancery never copies, uploads or analyses your files anywhere else.
Glancery can only see folders you choose in the macOS Open panel: your Home folder or any other folder, at first launch or later with Add Folder. macOS keeps a bookmark for each one so access survives restarts. Settings ▸ Erase App Data removes every bookmark and stops access straight away. Deleting the app does too.
Only on your Mac, in the app’s own preferences inside its container. None of it leaves your Mac.
| What | Why | Erase App Data |
|---|---|---|
| Bookmarks of the folders you chose, and whether the welcome screen was completed | So Glancery can show those folders after a restart | Removed |
| Searches you saved to the sidebar | Saved searches feature | Removed |
| Thumbnail size | Display preference | Removed |
| Today’s count of searches across your Mac: the date, the count, the latest clock reading, and the words of searches from the last 10 minutes | The free version has a daily limit for these searches; repeating a search within 10 minutes does not count again | The count, date and clock reading stay until the day ends, so erasing does not reset the daily limit. The search words are removed. |
macOS itself also keeps window positions and the last folder shown in the Open panel in the same preferences. Erase App Data removes those as well.
Search words in the count are kept for 10 minutes only: Glancery removes older ones the next time it starts or searches. If stored data can’t be read, it is set aside under the same name ending in .quarantined (so support can look at it if you ask) and Glancery starts clean. Erase App Data removes those copies too. Deleting the app deletes everything above.
Glancery makes no network connections of its own. The only network use is Apple’s StoreKit when you view, buy or restore an in-app purchase.
In-app purchases are sold by Apple through the App Store. Apple processes the payment; we never see your payment details or your Apple Account. See the Apple Privacy Policy.
None. No analytics SDK, no crash-reporting service, no advertising identifiers, no tracking across apps or websites.
Glancery is a general-audience utility and collects no personal data from anyone, including children.
If this policy changes, the new version will be published at this address with a new date.
