Wattora ("we", "us", or "the app") is a multi-country electricity price tracking application for iOS and macOS. We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about the data we handle.

3. Data We Do Not Collect
Wattora does not collect:
- Personal identity information (name, email address, phone number)
- Precise or coarse location data
- Contacts, photos, or other device data
- Financial information (payments are processed by Apple)
4. Legal Basis for Processing (GDPR)
We process data under the following legal bases as defined by the General Data Protection Regulation (EU 2016/679):
- Contract performance (Art. 6(1)(b)) — delivering the service you requested, including displaying prices for your selected country and managing your subscription.
- Legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f)) — anonymous usage analytics to improve the app.
- Consent (Art. 6(1)(a)) — push notifications (you can disable at any time in device settings) and personalized advertising via AdMob (managed through the App Tracking Transparency prompt on iOS).
5. Third-Party Services
Wattora integrates the following third-party services:
- Google AdMob — displays advertisements to free-tier users. AdMob may collect device identifiers and usage data for ad targeting purposes. See Google's Privacy Policy.
- Apple (App Store / StoreKit) — processes all subscription payments. Apple handles payment information directly; we never receive your payment details. See Apple's Privacy Policy.
- ENTSO-E Transparency Platform — public wholesale electricity market data source. No user data is shared with ENTSO-E.
- Cloudflare — hosts our backend infrastructure in the EU region. See Cloudflare's Privacy Policy.
6. Data Retention
- Device push tokens are deleted 90 days after last use.
- Country/zone preferences are stored on-device and on our server for the duration of your use of the app.
- Subscription status is retained while your subscription is active and for a reasonable period afterward for record-keeping.
- Anonymous analytics data is aggregated and cannot be linked back to individual users.
7. Data Storage and Security
Our backend runs on Cloudflare Workers in the EU region. Data is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS). We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect the data we process.
8. International Data Transfers
Google AdMob may transfer data outside the European Economic Area. Such transfers are governed by Google's data processing terms, including Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission.
9. Your Rights Under GDPR
If you are in the European Economic Area, you have the following rights:
- Access — request a copy of data we hold about you.
- Rectification — correct inaccurate data.
- Erasure — request deletion of your data.
- Restriction — limit how we process your data.
- Portability — receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format.
- Objection — object to processing based on legitimate interest.
- Withdraw consent — at any time, without affecting the lawfulness of prior processing.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local Data Protection Authority (DPA). For Italy, this is the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali.
10. Children's Privacy
Wattora is not directed at children under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you through the app or by other appropriate means. The "effective date" at the top of this page indicates when the policy was last revised.
