Terms of Use
Effective date: October 18, 2026
These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of Tidy ("the app", "we", "us"), a disk cleaner for macOS distributed through the Mac App Store. By downloading, installing, or using Tidy, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
1. License (Apple Standard EULA)
Tidy is licensed, not sold, to you under Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement (Standard EULA). These Terms supplement the Standard EULA; if they conflict, the Standard EULA prevails to the extent required by Apple.
2. Description of Service
Tidy scans folders you choose on your Mac (for example developer caches, build artifacts, AI tool data and duplicate files) and helps you clean them up. Items you choose to clean are moved to the macOS Trash; the app does not permanently delete files on your behalf.
3. Free and Premium Features
Scanning is free. Cleaning up items requires Tidy Pro, an auto-renewable subscription (monthly or yearly).
4. Auto-Renewable Subscriptions
- Subscriptions are purchased and billed through your Apple ID. Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase.
- The subscription length and price are shown in the app and on the App Store before you confirm the purchase.
- Subscriptions renew automatically unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period.
- If a free trial is offered, any unused portion is forfeited when you purchase a subscription.
- You can manage or cancel your subscription in your Apple ID account settings (on Mac: App Store > your name > Account Settings > Subscriptions). Cancelling stops future renewals; access continues until the end of the paid period.
- Refunds are handled by Apple under the Apple Media Services Terms. Use “Restore Purchases” in the app to restore an active subscription on another Mac signed in with the same Apple ID.
5. Your Files
You decide which items are cleaned. Because items are moved to the Trash, you can restore them until you empty the Trash. Review the results before cleaning; you are responsible for keeping backups of important data.
Privacy
How the app handles data is described in our Privacy Policy.
Acceptable Use
You agree not to reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the app except as permitted by law, and not to use the app for any unlawful purpose.
Disclaimer and Limitation of Liability
- The app is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law.
- We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including loss of data. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for the app in the 12 months preceding the claim.
- Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law, or your mandatory rights as a consumer.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date.
