Email Converter ("we", "us", or "the app") is a free macOS application that converts email files between MBOX, EML, and PST formats. We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about the data we handle.

3. Data We Do Not Collect

Email Converter does not collect:

File names or file paths

All email processing happens entirely on your Mac. Your email files never leave your computer. The app requires no account, no sign-in, and no internet connection to function.

4. Third-Party Services

TelemetryDeck (Analytics)

We use TelemetryDeck for anonymous, privacy-friendly analytics. TelemetryDeck does not collect personal data, does not use cookies, and does not track individual users. All data is aggregated. See TelemetryDeck's Privacy Policy.

Sentry (Crash Reporting)

We use Sentry to collect crash reports. Crash data includes device type, operating system version, and stack traces. No personally identifiable information is collected. See Sentry's Privacy Policy.

Apple (App Store)

The app is distributed via the Mac App Store. Apple may collect standard download and usage statistics. See Apple's Privacy Policy.

Email Converter does not integrate any advertising networks, tracking services, or payment processors. The app is completely free with no in-app purchases.

5. Legal Basis for Processing (GDPR)

We process data under the following legal bases as defined by the General Data Protection Regulation (EU 2016/679):

Legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f)) — collecting anonymous analytics and crash reports to improve app quality and stability. This processing is minimal, does not involve PII, and is balanced against user interests.

6. Data Retention

Anonymous analytics data is retained by TelemetryDeck according to their retention policy. Crash reports in Sentry are automatically deleted after 90 days. No personal data is retained by us at any time.

7. Your Rights (GDPR)

Under the GDPR, you have the right to:

Access your data — since we collect no personal data, there is nothing to access
Delete your data — uninstalling the app stops all data collection; no personal data exists to delete
Object to processing — you may contact us to request we stop analytics collection
Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority

8. Children's Privacy

Email Converter does not knowingly collect data from children under 13. The app does not require account creation or collect any personal information.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date.
