CSCS Card Quiz ("we", "the app") is an iOS mobile application developed by The Alternative that helps users prepare for the CSCS (Construction Skills Certification Scheme) card test through practice questions and mock exams. We are committed to protecting your privacy.

2. Data We Collect

CSCS Card Quiz collects limited, anonymised data to improve the app experience. We do not collect any personally identifiable information.

Usage Analytics (TelemetryDeck)

• Anonymised usage signals: screens visited, features used, quiz sessions started and completed
• Device type, iOS version, app version
• All data is hashed and cannot be tied to an individual user

Crash Reports (Sentry)

• Crash stack traces and error logs to help diagnose and fix bugs
• Device model, OS version, app version at the time of the crash
• No personally identifiable information is included in crash reports

Purchase Data (RevenueCat)

• Subscription status and purchase history to manage access to premium content
• An anonymised user identifier generated by RevenueCat (no name or email)
• Actual payment processing is handled by Apple; we never receive card or financial details

3. Data We Do Not Collect

The app does not collect:

• Your name, email address, or phone number
• Location data
• Contacts, photos, or other device files
• Payment card or financial information

4. Third-Party Services

• TelemetryDeck — privacy-first analytics (Privacy Policy)
• Sentry — crash reporting and error monitoring (Privacy Policy)
• RevenueCat — subscription and purchase management (Privacy Policy)
• Apple (App Store / StoreKit) — payment processing (Apple Privacy Policy)

We do not sell, rent, or share your data with third parties for marketing or advertising purposes.

5. How We Use Your Data

• To diagnose crashes and fix bugs (Sentry)
• To understand which features are used and improve the app (TelemetryDeck)
• To manage your subscription and unlock premium content (RevenueCat)

6. Legal Basis (GDPR)

We process data on the following bases:

• Legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f)) — anonymised analytics and crash reporting to maintain and improve the app
• Contract performance (Art. 6(1)(b)) — subscription management to deliver the premium service you purchased
• Consent (Art. 6(1)(a)) — in-app purchase management via Apple StoreKit (voluntarily initiated by the user)

7. Your Rights (GDPR)

If you are in the European Economic Area, you have the right to:

• Access — request a copy of data held about you
• Erasure — uninstall the app to remove locally stored data; contact us to request deletion of any analytics or crash data
• Object — object to processing based on legitimate interests
• Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority

8. Data Retention

• Analytics data (TelemetryDeck): retained per TelemetryDeck's standard retention period
• Crash reports (Sentry): retained for 90 days by default
• Purchase data (RevenueCat): retained for as long as your subscription is active, then per RevenueCat's data retention policy

9. Children's Privacy

The app does not knowingly collect data from children under the age of 13.

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "last updated" date.
